Home Lateral Flow Testing Information
Up to one third of people who have coronavirus experience no symptoms. By testing, we will help to stop the virus spread and help to keep our school open as safely as possible. The test is voluntary, but we as a school would encourage everyone to take it.
Lateral Flow Test (LFT) kits have been sent home to all pupils of secondary age (11-18), so please discuss as a family whether you would like to LFT or not.
Households, childcare and/or support bubbles who have children/adults that attend/work at schools can pick up home testing kits from local test sites or request home test kits to be delivered by visiting https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests.
Lateral Flow Tests are to be conducted up to twice a week with a minimum of 3 days and a maximum of 5 days between each test. If you would like to home-test your child, please test Sunday and Wednesday evenings so that results of these tests are ready prior to Monday and Thursday mornings.
As well as recording the result with the NHS (see website link found on page 15 in the information booklet distributed with the home test kits), schools are also required to have a record of all Lateral Flow Test results. Please record the result of your child’s test on the form (link provided in the letter dated 9th March) or through the email address LFT@lonsdale.herts.sch.uk.
If you are not planning to test your child, please return the test kits unopened and sealed back to school.
If you have any questions or queries related to LFT, please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions document below or contact Andrew Perrett at firstname.lastname@example.org.
