We became Governors, because we believe every child deserves the highest quality education—regardless of the barriers they face. At Lonsdale, we are proud to champion an inclusive, nurturing environment where every student is supported to thrive.

As Chair of Governors, I have had the privilege of guiding the school through many changes. While we have faced challenges along the way, our commitment to the children and the wider school community has never wavered. Together, we continue to grow, adapt and strengthen the foundations of our school.

Our Governing Board is made up of individuals who care deeply about the wellbeing and success of our students. We work closely with staff, parents and carers to ensure that every decision is made in the best interests of the children. Being a governor at a special school is just as demanding, rewarding and impactful as in any mainstream setting—and we welcome anyone who feels called to contribute.

We are also keen to encourage more parents and carers to get involved. Whether you can offer a few hours a week, help out on special occasions, or are interested in joining the governing board, your support makes a real difference.
