Lonsdale Students meet HRH Prince Edward
On Tuesday 26th June we had the great pleasure of taking 6 pupils to the University of Hertfordshire for a Duke of Edinburgh Celebration event. We were one of the lucky schools that were chosen to represent Hertfordshire in show casing what our pupils had achieved. The event was hosted by The University with a large array of Special Guests. Our main guest being His Royal Highness Prince Edward
At this event we performed a small wheelchair dance display to Blame it on the Boogie by Michael Jackson - this was staff and pupils working together. At the end of our dance we got the biggest cheer from all schools, groups and guests; we were all completely blown away by their reaction and so proud of our students. HRH Prince Edward then came and spoke to us and the pupils about how much he enjoyed the dance and asked the pupils about their Duke of Edinburgh Award. Their behaviour was impeccable.
I have never had so many lovely comments about how amazing our pupils are and it was really nice for so many different groups and dignitaries to come and talk to our pupils to find out what they had been doing.
We all felt very honoured to be invited and had such an amazing day.
Thank you to all the staff who made it possible.
